Add to Wishlist. All 30 of my Gameboy Advance games play on my retron 5 but just 1. It's understandable because that Need For Speed game is in 3D. Gameboy Advance was actually built as a 2D system. I guess late in the Gameboy Advance life developers started putting 3D games on it.
I haven't used the Retro Freak, so I can't speak for that. If you want the best visual output, go for the Retron 5. If you want the best reliability with games, go for the Gameboy Player. I've experienced a few issues with the Retron 5. Star X froze while playing, one of my Hot Wheels 2-in-1 games has issues loading one game and displaying graphical issues with the other. Most of the time, however, they play amazingly well. The Gameboy Player doesn't look as good, but seems to play anything.
